Mini Workshop Schedule

June 18, 2016-“Empowerment & Grip Development”

Fundamentals of teaching the handler the techniques for empowerment and bitework fundamentals to maximize learning.

Location:  Why Dogs Fly Ranch (Fallbrook, CA)

July 10, 2016-“Motivational Retrieve”

Start to finish reward based retrieve system for competition.

August 72016-“Polish Up!  Competition Handling Workshop”

Learn footwork, handling skills to cue drive, set ups, dumbbell throws, and all handling to maximize performance and minimize point loss.

“Puppy Works 101”-

Wednesday, June 1, 2016 @ 6:00pm (Vista location)

Four consecutive weeks in duration (45 minute class)

Prerequisite: Puppy must have two sets of vaccinations prior to the start of class and be over 10 weeks of age.

Specifically designed to give your new puppy the best foundation possible using progressing, reward based methods.  

Your puppy will learn behaviors that will be beneficial throughout their life including but not limited to:  sit, down, eye contact, go to place, wait, target touch, handling, and more!  As a handler, you will learn what to expect during their first year of life and equip your new best buddy will proper socialization skills, environmental exposure techniques, and learn all about operant conditioning and clicker training.

“Skills & Manners Class I”-

Friday, June 3, 2016 @ 9:00am (Vista location)

Four consecutive weeks in duration (45 minute class)

Prerequisite: Over six months of age

Enrollment ends May 25, 2016

Tuition-$125

Designed to teach your dog’s the basics including not jumping on guests, waiting, sit, down, go to place, leash manners, group stays, leave it, and more!  Fun, creative, balanced training for dogs who are over six months of age.  

“Skills and Manners Class II” will be offered immediately after completion of “Skills and Manners Class I” for those who would like to advance to the beginnings of off leash training, and advanced public training.

“Drivey Dog Foundation Class 101”-

Four consecutive weeks in duration (45 minutes class)

Prerequisite: a good attitude!  Caffeine helps, too! 🙂

Specifically designed for those dogs and handlers interested in maximizing their dog’s potential in competitive dog sports including competition obedience, Rally, agility, IPO, and Ringsports.  Emphasis placed in nurturing interactive play, event markers, building drive, speed, animation, and advancing to a higher level of proficiency.  This is an introductory course designed for those relatively new or just entering the world of dog sports.  Learn about the amazing world of competitive dog sports and start your journey.  Your path need not be determined, as this course is a foundation course on which other sports can be built.

“Tracking 101”-

Four consecutive weeks in duration (1 hr class)

Prerequisite: Introductory class.  Bring a hungry pooch!

Learn the basics of foundation foot step tracking to prepare your dog for AKC tracking tests, IPO (schutzhund), and a good foot step tracking foundation for dogs going on to Search and Rescue.  Overview of laying tracks, wind/moisture conditions, scent cones, trailing vs tracking, and beginning article indications.
